Thailand

TEFL International Inc.'s students have wonderful opportunities to volunteer on environmental projects in Thailand right after you get your TESOL certification at TEFL International's training facility in Ban Phe. We recommend you consider these opportunities in Thailand: (a) the Elephant Nature Park near Chiang Mai, (b) the Wildlife Rescue Centre near Petchaburi, and (c) the Elephant Refuge and Education Centre (part of the Wildlife Rescue Centre).

The Elephant Nature Park has openings for volunteers to work with rescue elephants (rescued from street begging, working as entertainers, abuse, etc.), to assist with conservation projects, to learn about herbal medicines, to get close to nature, to share elephant secrets and/or to help save endangered species.

The Wildlife Rescue Centre needs volunteers. The Centre shelters a variety of macaques (5 species), 2 species of gibbon, several species of civets, loris, small and big cats (leopard cats, tigers), bears, crocodiles and exotic birds. Volunteers prepare food for the animals, serving it to them and cleaning their enclosures. Other jobs include: cleaning food bowls, equipment and food preparation areas, and giving tours to visiting tourists as well as assisting development of the education centre.

The Elephant Refuge and Education Centre needs volunteersto keep the Centre going on a day to day basis and to provide the best possible care for the elephants. Volunteers will work hands-on with the elephants—washing them, feeding them during the day, going out to collect food for them, taking them for a swim, and cleaning their enclosure

We have created a page with more details for each of these unique opportunities. Don't wait—apply now since spaces for volunteering are limited. By volunteering you:
